Retursystem operates an efficient logistics system for returnable crates and returnable pallets. Our business was founded in 1997 and has grown rapidly since then. The reason is that a constant stream of companies opts to join our effective system for returnable crates and returnable pallets. In short; because we offer smarter choices!
The Swedish food industry was, through DLF, Dagligvaruleverantörers Förbund (Grocery Manufacturers of Sweden) together with the trade, through Svensk Dagligvaruhandel, the first in the world to start a common return system based upon returnable crates and returnable pallets. The company, Svenska Retursystem AB, was formed in order to operate and develop the system on behalf of both owners.
Retursystem is tasked with administrating, operating and further developing the return system, so that it will gradually become even more effective and even easier to use. The fundamental idea with the system is to replace single-use packaging such as cardboard cartons, with returnable crates and pallets. The entire supply chain – manufacturers/producers, wholesalers and retail, have co-operated during the course of the years in order to develop an environmentally friendly and cost-effective system.
Manufacturers/producers and wholesalers join the system by signing an agreement with Retursystem.
