“Simple to use for automatic filling”

Food group Atria is one of the pioneers where the use of returnable crates is concerned.  Back in 2001, the crates began being used at the subsidiary Gea's black pudding factory in Saltsjö-Boo. Later use spread to more of the group’s companies, among these to meat producer Atria Lithells in Kumla.

“I had the advantage of being part of the team working with realisation of returnable crates in the perishable food stuffs division”, states Bert Rosenquist who is distribution manager at Atria.

Now all of Retursystem’s crate types and returnable pallets are used for the distribution of the majority of Atria's product range to grocery stores, which includes sandwich meats, smoke-cured loin of pork, liver pate, Falun sausage and much more.

“For us the leading benefit is that the returnable crates are hygienic and easy to fill in our automated flow. Plus they provide a better handling in our warehouse and terminals”, explains Bert Rosenquist.
